“In six years, I have run through that fortune, just how – I could not tell you.”
Wildly eccentric British aristocrat. Known for his lavish spending (and ultimate bankruptcy), Paget was at one time in the possession of items including: 30 pairs of pure silk pajamas, 100 pairs of authentic crocodile skin boots, a cigarette holder made of gold & encrusted with rubies, as well as a number of exotic and domesticated animals. A lover of theater arts, he refurbished his family’s chapel by converting it into a 150 seat theater. Paget worked with a theater company to put on free shows for the public in his countryside home of Anglesey. During his bankruptcy proceedings shortly before his death, he had what would today be estimated at $75,320,580.00 in debts
